Lets keep in mind that the media for whatever reason refuses to acknowledge that football is truly a team sport. It was abundantly clear last night that the Colts offense outplayed the Pats offense, and although the media ought to give as much credit to the O line and Manning's amazing receivers we just hear about how Payton is the second coming. Make no mistake he played great and is probably the best QB in the league, but we cant measure these things completely objectively because no QB is ever on the field alone.

Conversely Brady's offense let him down, although he was clearly not at the top of his game. While the first INT he threw was definitely his fault, you can make the argument that none of the others were. I think its safe to say that if Watson didn't misplay that deep ball he might have actually had a chance to catch it if he had just kept running instead of turning around for it and batting it high into the air which was the only way it would have been a pick. The ball that was tipped at the line I'm not sure about, some people I watched the game with said its the offensive lineman's job to keep the defender tied up so they cant do that, but I won't say for certain as I'm no expert. The Faulk pick was clearly not Brady's fault, it was a bit high and maybe a little fast but 99 out of 100 times Faulk makes that catch no problem, he just misplayed it at the worst possible time.

all the media fawning was on the pats after monday night's game...heck even collinsworth picked brady as the primetime player BEFORE the game !

Peyton manning deserves all the accolades he is getting...getting it done in the post season has been an obvious issue of the past but as of now...without him that team wont beat the titans or the raiders IMO...no offense to colts fans..
he is single handedly keeping the team from losing week after week..
we all seem to say how brady has never had 2 bad games in row ...
but how many times do you say manning threw 4 picks in a game...? almost never
this debate is never ending...if colts win SB this yr..people will still say brady has 3 but manning has only 1 and it will go on and on..

But apparently, theres a difference when Wilt Chamberlain ( who won 2 titles but was still called a loser), Donovan MCNabb, and Michael Vick dont win titles and when Petton Manning doesnt. In fact, going back through college i cant think of another example of a player who was so great but yet was such a miserable player in the biggest games. Even Barry Bonds had a good WS in 2002.

Ben Roethlisburger did more in 2005 than Manning has ever done.
that last sentence probably made every other pat fan in here with smarts laugh their ass off...quit being a hater ben had a defense and a total team effort throughout the playoffs along with breaks like Carson getting hurt...which sucked but it was still a break and he had the worst qb rating ever by a qb in the super bowl but still the TEAM won the game lol his wr's had to make the throws downfield for tds all he could do was dive at the endzone and come up short but still get the td called....lame get a life quit hating

He's the man.

Now, if he can't ever get over the hump and win a SB he'll simply be a better version of Marino when people look back on his career. But if he keeps playing the way he's played this season, I think the SB is a realistic goal for the Colts.

Manning is playing lights out.

And I hate the guy, so I say all of that grudgingly, but it's true.
and why do you hate the guy? reasons please because well he hasn't taken out your team in the playoffs....reasoning? brady is friends with manning....reasoning please for hating him or are you just jealous of his accomplishments like the 49 tds etc

And this "awhile" is all relative to how you view time i guess. I look at a whole body of work, not two regular season games. I know we live in a NOW NOW society, but im just saying, lets give Brady, Belichick, and the Patriots some slack, they have, and continue to accomplish a lot, and will continue to do so.
Now if a similar type game happens when the two meet in January thats a different story.
I think manning was something like 22 of 29 for 280 yards and td and 0 ints vs the steelers and when it mattered in the 4th quarter down 10 to 21 he drove them down the field for a td and got the 2 pt conv and then when they got the ball back he drove them down the field, took a shot at the td when in good indoor fg position and then let the kicker come out to do his part to get them to OT....and he didnt do that....sorry but not every team has had a reliable mr clutch Adam V to come out and make the kicks time and time again...where would brady be if adam missed the tying fg vs the raiders in the tuck rule game???? who knows

you are so dumb
