Default Do the Pats Start Preparing for the Colts This Week?

I was just wondering that since the Pats get and extra day to prepare for Minnesota, and one less to prepare for Indy, do they start prepping for Indy now?

I'm not talking about the players themselves starting to prepare for Indy, because we've all seen what can happen when players overlook an opponent. What I mean is the coaching and scouting staff. Do they start breaking down film on Indy or do they put all of their energy into Minnesota?

i doubt BB just decides to focus on Indy when Vikings might be a tougher matchup for us overall..

against Vikings we need to worry about our whole O..and our run D

against Colts..we need to worry about their pass O...thats it

That is standard procedure according to Belichick in one of his press conferences the other day.

We've played the Colts so much. There's not a lot new we have
to prepare for. I've seen a lot of their games. They are playing
a lot of 2te offense with Stokely being hurt. Probably don't have
to play as much nickel as in the past. I think our running game should
give us a nice time of possession advantage. Keep their offense on
the sideline.

If you remember last year's MNF game. They converted a ton
of 3rd down and had some long drives. Just because we had
success against them in 03 and 04 doesn't mean we will still have
success against them now. Last year's defense struggled mightily
against Indy. We all like to give him grief. But, Gump(Manning) scares
the hell out of every defense they go against. I like the fact that
it's outdoors, hopefully a little cold and windy. He loves those perfect
conditions in their Whatevertheycallitthisyear Dome.

One game at a time though. I'm plenty worried about the
Vikes. Most teams with homefield on MNF try to come out with
a flurry. If we withstand that early storm. Which I think we can do.
Then, there's a much better chance to win.

What Box said is right. BB said in one of his PCs that there is a 10 day cycle
in each game preparation. Right now there are staffers that are gathering all
the Indy tapes and organizing that stuff. The difference this week is BB won't
really get into that stuff until Tuesday. Not really sure how they handel this
week. Perhaps the game review which happens on Monday is skipped and
Players just have a normal Tuesday off or work for awhile in the AM ... then
rest of day off. Tuesday will probably be a busier than normal day for BB so
that by Wednesday they are probably on a normal schedule for the rest of
of the week.
The big difference I see is one less day for bumps and bruises to heal. Can't
do anything about that.

Officially they might not, but I don't think BB and co just sit around planning for only one opponent at a time, I won't be surprised if the scouting on the Colts and the Bears have been going on all these times.

NE coaches and staff are already probably working on games beyond the Colt game.

One game at a time does not mean advance scouting isn't done. It is more about the avoidance of minimizing the importance of the upcoming game over following ones.

I know that wasn't the best English, but it is what I meant to say.
