104 players to start the new season! Panic set in here at Predict-the-Score-central, that's a lot of data entry. So I needed some hired help, and went where I myself have in the past received some lucrative contract assignments, hire-a-simian.com. I got lucky and immediately found what I was looking for, here he is hard at work: .
My hopes for an easy week were dashed, though, when my hired help got to Born_a_Patriot's prediction of Bills 41, Patriots 0. He spent the next two days rolling on the floor laughing, and I had to let him go. Try explaining "karma" to a monkey! Hey, they never said this would be easy. So that's why this post is a day later than I'd planned -- I will try to post results on Tuesdays, before that it scrolls off the first page in about 10 seconds and after that the suspense gets physically unbearable for many players (or so they tell me).
As I look though the week's results I see a lot of returning players who came close to taking home the first week's honors, but two new players took the prize this week. Both Ahriman and PatsWickedPissah predicted Pats 23-17, which was closer than anyone else. (Apparently they expected the Patriots would get three safeties, which seems unlikely to me but I can't argue with a winning formula). So Congratulations, Ahriman and PatsWickedPissah! And everyone else, keep playing, even if you were off a few points this week, it's a long season and these things definitely even out!

(I thought that the picture was a not-so-subtle way of saying that random choice could have done better than many of us this week.)

Honestly I never considered that, maybe it was my subconcious subtly saying 45 Monkeys could have done better during the first half Sunday than the Pats!
