A little help with this please.
He was released by Miami in March for cap space. That effectively made him a free agent.
Sure, Seau is old, and probably will never play up to the level he did that earned him 12 PRO BOWL invitations, but he may still have a very solid year left in him. He had a great year for Miami in 2003, but suffered injuries in '04 and '05. Anyone calling him overrated doesn't truly appreciate the impact he had with San Diego and the defense.
If he can stay healthy (assuming he makes the cut and the team) he may surprise many people.
EDIT: Forgot to add that he always gives 110 percent effort.

Gardner, Alexander, and Roach ?? I'll make a prediction for you - one of those guys will make the roster and Beisel will not.
Not this year. There are too many talented secondary people to just keep two pure Sters, who are aging, undersized LBs who can't take a regular snap or three...

"That's impossible. By definition nobody can give more than 100 percent."
Don't know which movie that's from, but if you remember it, laugh now.
But obviously not you because you kiss his ***** on every move he makes and never ever question his judgement. Back when we were winning the super bowls, it was easy to just nod your head in approval. Lately though, he's been 50/50 at best in his personnel decisions. I think this move was more out of desperation than anything else. Oops, there I go again, someone call me a troll and put me in my place.
You're actually right, (surprise!), but a desperation move is better than a non move.
There's no doubt Belichick is patching. For whatever reason, BB hasn't seen the type of LB he wants to invest in for the future.
He's passed over some decent players recently, so it isn't like he's not looking.
Guys like Seau and Rodney might help certain players to grow up quicker or grow a pair, (Monty) while BB looks carefully for the future at the position too.
You have to admit, he's been deliberate but quite succesful when he's pulled the trigger, (Vrabel Colvin).
Plus even over the hill he has fire, experience and freakin tackles people which is more than you can say about any of the ILB cnadidates sofar.

Who gets cut???
TBC
Woods
Beisel
Brown
Mincey
Roach
Alexander
Gardner
Izzo
Davis
I don't think it matters. IR, PS. Probably Roach. I like Woods so far to stick.

I am by no means trying to start a rumor here, but the first thought that came to my mind when I heard about Seau was - just how long is Bruschi expected to be out?
Like everyone else, I like the idea of bolstering the linebacking corps with veteran experience; but that question just kept nagging at me. Hearing the Pioli was in Dallas didn't help things either.
