Default Reiss: 8/8 Afternoon Notes

Day 10, 2nd practice

The Patriots just concluded their second practice on the 10th day of training camp. The session was the team's 16th overall since the start of camp July 28.

Some notes:

...

* Music blared throughout the second half of practice as the team prepared for the crowd noise of the Georgia Dome. Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen were a few of the prominent artists.

* Tight end Benjamin Watson had a few big catches, beating safety James Sanders both times.

* Eugene Wilson worked primarily as a slot corner in this session, with Ellis Hobbs and Asante Samuel the outside corners.

* Troy Brown had an uncharacteristic drop in 7-on-7 drills. Bam Childress also had a drop in hurry-up work with the second unit.

...

* Johnathan Sullivan batted down a pass while continuing to play nose tackle with the second unit.

We'll have a final wrap later in the night.

Here is two more notes from him...

Quote:
* Chad Scott, Vernell Brown, Hank Poteat and Willie Andrews had interceptions.

* Receiver Kelvin Kight, who drew some praise from Bill Belichick earlier in the day, ran with the first-team offense in 3-wide sets.
That sounded like a terrific practice. Who may win the fifth WR?? Bam, Stone, Kight?!

Sullivan even made a good play, wow.

nice to hear that Sillivan is doing something good for a change. Maybe Seymour can rub off on him.

Some thing has rubbed off on him if he passed the conditioning drill he has to be in better shape than he was in NO then. He made a play that was mentioned today. As guy with that much bad "work ethic" to "recover" from I view this as a positive sign...not a praise Jesus..but a positive sign.

Who is this Kelvin Kight guy ?? Seems like he is impressing people on a daily basis. Plus he has some decent size, 6'0" 215. I am always rooting for Bam, but who is this Kight guy ?

Just did some research, I should have known, another Florida Gator WR. Was a senior when Chad Jackson was a freshman. Hell, we may see Kight lining up with Jackson and Caldwell come opening game (if Branch is stupid enough to hold out that long). Kight probably played with Caldwell. P.S.-Reche's baby brother Andre Caldwell is a senior this season for the Gators, guaranteed future Patriot, lol.
