Jones believes his ex-teammate has plenty left in the tank, even at age 32.

“That age stuff is mostly the media,” Jones said. “Oh no. He’s 32. That’s like saying in the business world you’re in the tank at that age. He’s not done yet.”

Jones would love to see Law return. In fact, it gives him a thought for a couple of other players the Patriots should try to get into camp.

“All we need is Lawyer (Milloy) and Otis (Smith),” Jones said with a laugh, naming the other members of the 2001 Super Bowl champion defensive backfield. “That would be cool.”

No, Tebucky, saying that an NFL cornerback is getting almost too old to play his best at 32 is not the same as saying a businessman is getting almost too old to work his best at age 32. Top businessmen easily work into their 50's, 60's and even 70's. Not many NFL CBs that age.

Also, although I enjoyed them all in 2001, I would not like to go into the 2006 season with a defensive backfield of Law, O.T.I.S., Jones and Milloy.

Well, he obviously made that comment in reference to Law, and also joking about the others....right? So, I take it as a lighthearted joke about milloy and smith, but with Law....He's still got it. You'd have to be a fool to think Law wouldn't come right in here and ***** smack each and every other CB on our roster. No one, and I mean no one in our backfield can match Law on skill level, even on his worst day. So, I agree. Bring Law back, and let the youngin's sit and watch. Maybe they will learn a thing or two.

whats so stupid about what he said? It all sounds fine..hed like to have some teammates back..joked a bit..said Law still has it..many of us agree.

Agreed, not quite sure i can see whats so stupid about the comment. Even if law is slower he still would probably be the best corner on our team.

Spacecrime, I think its obvious to all Tebucky's comments were tongue-in-cheek. Cut the guy some slack fer pete's sake.

For a couple of years his age isn't too relevant, 32, 33 years old he should still be able to run fine.

Yeah - I also felt Tebucky's comments were meant jokingly.

As for Ty Law and how fast he is - he already showed us how effective he can be on ONE leg during the 2003 campaign. I will never forget that awesome pick and runback VS Tenn. I still felt he really poured on the limp a little at the end, but hey, why not.

It seems that his former teammates are really pressuring him to return - I hope so, pour it on him, get him back here where he belongs already.

If Ty comes back - I welcome him with open arms - if he does not - he reinforces the money is first, last and everything label.

Tebucky's quote was saying that such a thought is like if someone said a businessman was too old at 32.


You simply misunderstood. There wasn't anything wrong/dumb about what he said.
