Default OT: Jets "confident" they won't have blackouts

I know we've talked this to death in other threads, but it's in the news again:

Owner confident Jets will sell seat licenses, avoid blackouts - NFL - CBSSports.com Football

Anyone know if the Giants are having the same trouble?

Giants have about 1500 unsold seats.

The Giants have sold all of their PSL's that would effect the blackout rules. They still have plenty of club seats to sell that no one is buying.

The Jets have plenty of psls to sell, but they will never have a black out in NY. Between the network and the team they would buy the tickets. The potential loss of TV advertising revenue is worth so much more then buying a few thousand tickets.

Pardon my stupidity, but how do the PSLs change the blackout? I thought if the game wasn't sold out 72 hours before game time, period, the game was blacked out. (Though as we've seen the league usually grants extensions for another day or two.)

Club seats don't count towards blackouts. If they sold all of their club seats, odds are they sold (or will sell) all of their single game tickets. That means they will not have blackouts even if they don't sell a single club seat.

I know if the Jets don't live up to Jets' fan's lofty expectations, there will be plenty of blackouts during Jets games and they will all be alcohol related.

I believe the Giants have sold out all of their non club seats. The question for the Jets is that if they can't people to buy the psls do they then sell the tickets to individual games through ticketmaster? I have to believe at some point they will do this.

Woody Johnson claims he won't, but he might have no choice if the rumored estimates of PSLs not sold are really over 15,000 rather than the 10,000 that the Jets acknowledge (although 10,000 is still a ton of seats that aren't likely to get PSL purchases).

I can't imagine he would consider not selling them to the public. Imagine having even 5,000 tickets empty on gameday? Regardless they will not have any black outs.
