Andy Hart [Correction: Erik Scalavino - Thanks Andy!] was very high on Farnham throughout rookie minicamp. He was the last tryout standing by the final practice on Saturday afternoon:
So, that means the only tryout player who made it through the whole camp was my early sleeper pick, #13. I surmised after the first practice that he was Buddy Farnham of Brown, and according to The Providence Journal, my guess was correct, although we haven’t had confirmation from team officials. As a follower of Brown football, I’ve watched Farnham flourish over the past three years. The guy’s got great hands, quick feet, good return skills, and runs crisp routes. Looks like he may get a chance to compete at the upcoming OTAs and mini-camp practices with the rest of the squad.
On the other end of the spectrum, Bryan Anderson from Central Michigan continued to struggle. He dropped yet another catchable ball in drills. With his size, I’d like to see him produce in this offense, but so far, he’s looked slow with below average hands. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to jitters, but that’ll have to end once the real practices start.

Re: Pats sign Brown WR Buddy Farnham (Andover, MA) after minicamp tryout
Nice story. The hole at WR looks plugged beyond necessity at the moment. If Brady likes any/all of these guys, would be a nice treat to see an adundance of threats to complement Moss and later on Welker.

Not too familiar with Farnham, other than the reports I've read since he attended the mini-camp, but he sounds like the type of kid I'd want to root for. Hopefully he continues to progress.

At the very least, a couple of these guys (Edelman, Tate, Price, Hernandez, Anderson) will pan out. I didn't include Holt in this list because I have all the faith in the world that he'll take Aiken's place. It's the other spots that I'm talking about.

Let's take a moment to give due credit to all the beat reporters who praised the anonymous receiver 13. (IIRC he was the one who juked Spikes so badly in one drill that he demanded an extra turn.) We really do get some good rookie camp insights from them every year.

That made me think Farnham might be able to contribute. I also liked Spikes' reaction to it.
I know everyone's optimistic after the draft, but I really feel like the last two drafts (plus next year's with our 4 picks in the top 2 rounds) will be our foundation for the next decade.

They have to be. The last two drafts and the next one (with two #1 and two #2) will either be the foundation and ground floor of our next run or we'll slip into "decent" mediocrity.
Regarding Farnham, I was expecting some little guy but he's 6'0 or 6'1" depending on the link, we have a nice little group of young WR coming along.
