1.) 2004 Pats - The best overall team of the decade
2.) 2000 Ravens - One of the three best defenses of all time
3.) 2003 Pats- One of the most underrated defenses in NFL history
4.) 2002 Buc - Awesome defense, effcient offense
5.) 2008 Steelers - Another awesome defense and efficent offense
6.) 2009 Saints - Just a well rounded team. Great QB. Opportunistic defense
7.) 2001 Pats - Great defense with an offense that didn't make mistakes
8.) 2006 Colts - Great offense with a horrible, historically bad (holds the record as the statistically worse run defense in league history) defense that somehow came together at the right time in the playoffs
9.) 2005 Steelers - Caught the Colts napping and had a good run in the playoffs
10.) 2007 Giants - Were a team that couldn't win at home and were in danger of not making the playoffs at all in mid-December. Got hot in at the right time in the playoffs.

Why do you have the Ravens so low? An argument can be made for that team having the greatest defense of all time.

(1) 2004 Patriots
(2) 2003 Patriots (maybe a little homerific, but that team beat 10 double digit win teams, both co-MVP's, won low scoring games, high scoring games, in all sorts of weather and all sorts of conditions... there really wasn't a boring win in the bunch... still my favorite team of all time)
(3) 2009 Saints (explosive offense, and opportunistic defense... I think this team beats any of the ones below it on this list, with the possible exception of the 2000 Ravens)
(4) 2000 Ravens (historic defense, but that offense was just putrid -- 5 games in a row without a TD, I believe it was)
(5) 2002 Buccaneers (Underrated team, due in part to being very unlikeable, and plodding their way through a mundane postseason, had the second best defense of the decade, and a better offense than the '00 Ravens)
(6) 2008 Steelers (Murderous schedule)
(7) 2007 Giants (Played very well when they had to, and you have to respect their postseason run... that divisional round win in Dallas was a hell of an effort, and an often forgotten game)
(8) 2006 Colts (Historically bad run defense, caught a ton of breaks in their postseason run (the ineptitude of Herm Edwards, Steve McNair crapping the bed, Reche Caldwell, "face-guarding", and the Flu, and of course, Rex Grossman)...
(9) 2001 Patriots (I loved the quote earlier about being the best "team" of the decade
(10) 2005 Steelers (The miserable Super Bowl did overshadow the hell of a run they went through to get there, but they did have to win their final 3 games to get in, and they struggled at home against the Lions in their regular season finale)

Regardless of the Giants average regular season, their post-season run was ridiculously impressive.

The combined record of the final 3 teams they played, going into the game...

45-6 (.882) 26 Pro-Bowlers

Just insane.

Because I think all the teams I put ahead of them would beat them. And what do you mean "so low" they're 5 out of 10 they were one of the greatest DEFENSES of all time not greatest teams. Brees, 03 and 04 Brady, and 08 Roethlisberger would have scored more against the Ravens D than the Ravens offense could put up against the 09 Saints, 03 and 04 Pats and the 08 Steelers. Which of those 4 teams would YOU put below the 2000 Ravens.
