Default Brandon Tate at home reflecting on home life and as a New England Patriot

NFL's Tate comes home | tate, powerhouse, home - Top News - Burlington Times News

Nice short story of this kid and how much of a pleasant person he is in his hometown.

The kid has character and lots of upside,I can only hope that injuries do not decide his pro fate before he has a chance to go out there and prove others wrong who passed up on this kid though the first few rounds.

I am expecting Tate to be our 3rd or 4th receiver in 2010 depending on the status of Welker

We could really use this kid to step up in a big way at WR and on ST in 2010.

Still nothing definitive on his second knee injury but the article says nothing about surgery or rehab this offseason so while is doesn't SAY it, I'm reading that as most likely he didn't tear an ACL again.

Had hoped he would be our #3 along with our future punt returner...

Probably some good ligament damage but the fact he is at home and spending time with Family and friends instead of having surgery is a good sign

Question and concern is will he be like a Crable and continue to struggle with injuries? or will he come back strong and surprise us.

No haircut/hazing initiations?

If true, that's a change long overdue.

Same here.

Maybe it's just me being hopeful, but part of me always assumed Tate was IR'd with a minor injury that might've been a matter of weeks (MCL, perhaps), and they just thought the roster spot was too valuable at that point. I think Reiss and the others might have jumped the gone in assuming it was ACL, but we'll see.

Reiss never actually said ACL, he said he heard it was ligament damage to the opposite knee. Many read that as "torn ACL" but it could have been the MCL or PCL and, as you said, they just shut it down save the roster spot and let him rehab fully.

Hard to count on a guy that has had knee problems like he has had each of the past 2 seasons. If he can step in and be our #3 WR that is just what we need, regardless I think we need to add 2 WR's this off season since we cannot really depend on Tate.

You can't depend on Tate Or Welker next season which certainly will require the draft to be looking for some WR talent, because other than Moss there is no a guarantee for ANY of the other WRs to be on the 2010 roster including Wes and Edelman looks like a keeper but one never knows - this position is about as drained as it ever was before.
