Though it was hard to smile today i did manage a smile when I saw Julian run backwards for 2 or 3 steps

... did Welker teach him that one?

Edelman with health will be a top 10 in the NFL in receptions next year.

It's a shame that Edelman is going to look back on this game and remember that the Pats got blown out, but he certainly played with heart today.
He was a great pick. I can't wait to see how he grows as a player.

Excellent point. I forgot about Gaffney, and you are right. They never should have let him leave.

I was at the game and I think Edelman and Slater were the only players on the entire team that acted like it was a playoff game.

Slater stepped up today ... too bad he can't run receiver routes ... but he'll stick here.

Butler also ... he was in another gear today.

He will absolutely look back with disappointment... but there's no way he doesn't realize deep down that he was one of the only Patriot players to show up, give all he had and subsequently be rewarded with the confidence of the rest of the team and coaching staff. I'm sure overall he feels terrible, but it is as good a note for him to end the season on if you end it with a loss. I'm sure he realized what his potential is in this league. That, combined with the kid's amazing work ethic, should result in an excellent offseason for him.

=============
Let's have a look at our 53 man roster
WR Moss, Edelman, Aiken, Stanback

Now let's understand that we need to bring in THREE free agent wide receivers to compete for a couple of roster spots.
You're right. They were short a receiver all of this year once the Joey Galloway experiment failed. They need multiple receivers.

Think of 2007. Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Gaffney, ... This year?

Also, Faulk is a great veteran but he can't last forever.

Amen. My best-case scenario would be hearing that Edelman splits the next six months between Casa Brady-Bündchen and Casa Welker.
