Default Anyone miss Seymour this weekend??

Losing the way we did by 1 point there have been many threads covering alot of angles. Not having Green or Warren only magnifies our struggles on the DL. If Seymour makes 1 play on 1 drive anywhere in the game we dont lose by 1 point. I dont look at as trusting the offense more, BB simply saw how badly the defense was playing. Seymour could have helped. One play could be one game which could mean home field. It was my bet that losing Seymour at the beginning of the year would cost us 1-2 games, hard to imagine this not to be one of em.

pure speculation. How do you know he wouldnt have been injured also? Lets keep the talk on players who are actually on the team. Besides, there's already threads on this

The team missed Tully, Jarvis, and Warren more then they missed Seymour.

So do I as he was one of my favorite players on the team. But not having those players on the field hurt us more than not having Seymour.

I guess I had what I thought was an original thought....maybe its because I didnt want to read the 135 posts whining about Thomas??

Glad to see that some here still realize players make plays and draft picks can make even Mangina a head coach. I say SO WHAT if we "get nothing" for Seymour, BB is a way better coach than he is a personnel guy(as we are now appreciating). If we have the cap room we will find a player wanting the $$. He can find a 6th rd QB and train him to play in the league. Every year undrafted guys make the team while draft picks are cut. You just dont lose that much experience on D in one season without feeling the effects. The only thing we can hope now is that his coaching can change the defense in the next couple months to offset the homefield advantage lost this weekend. More to the point how about us season ticket holders who now will have to pony up monies for BOTH playoff games even though we have little shot at hosting the 2nd game? You know they keep those monies and roll em over to next seasons monies....but if you have about 10 tickets fronting that kind of $$ based on that game realllllllly hurts.

"How bad this defense was playing?"

The defense had a pretty decent game, all things considered. I was impressed. At one point I said to myself "I wonder what Colts fans are thinking right now: Who are all these new guys on the Pats defense and why are they holding us to so many punts and some picks?!"

Having Seymour wouldn't have made much of a difference. This defense is going to be really good over the next few years.

I think a lot of the fans who "miss" Seymour are just experiencing nostalgia. Seymour wasn't the same player in 2008 as he was in 2003. He wouldn't have been the answer for the Pats' pass rush this season.

Thats the thing i like the most. They gave up too many points in this game, but they're getting better every week. This defense could be what we've all been wanting, and sooner than we expected. They just need time. Hell, it was Manning afterall. Nobody should be expecting a low scoring game against him
