Default Wendell is only 275 lbs?

That's a little too light for an OG, IMO unless they're doing all zone blocking.

I haven't been able to see pats games on TV for preseason. How has he looked?

He's a rookie too, so I guess he's pretty much a lock for PS. Maybe Ohren-Ishi makes it to the 53 after all.

He looks like 300 lb Dan Koppen physically, which indicates his time on the Practice Squad wasn't wasted fasting or avoiding the weight room. He looked like the number one C/G option and played pretty well against some first team competition in the preseason games.

I wouldn't say he's a lock for another year on the Practice Squad. With Hochstein gone there is a need for a backup center and I'd consider him slightly ahead of Connolly and Ohrnberger for that role. There's a possibility that both Wendell and Ohrnberger make the team; it's not necessarilly an either one or the other situation.

I had read somewhere that he had bulked up. Connelly had trouble

last year with shotgun snaps.

Has he been coming in early at guard? I thought Connolly was the first sub at center in each game so far.

Wendell's not headed to the practice squad. He's headed to the 45-man active day roster as the #2 to Koppen.

I still haven't gotten to the Redskins game I recorded off NFLN, but in Philly Wendell rotated in as first alternate at Center and Connelly was first alternate at RG, they swapped places on the next series, if I have my timeline correct, the progression is what is was. Against Cincy Connelly was first alternate at Center and Wendell at RG before swapping. Both have also taken LG reps. As PS23 says, Wendell looks to be ahead by a nose - especially since in Camp he was reported to be with the 1's at RG everytime Neal took a Senior moment. In Philly he was at RG when they brought Britt in at RT, the two of them executed one of the prettiest combo blocks it's been my pleasure to watch, Connelly and to a lesser extent Orhnberger did their jobs, and BJeepers followed Wendell through a four lane freeway-sized hole as Wendell sealed a LB and NE got away from the goal line.

I've ranked them in other threads, but to my eye it looks like Wendell, Connolly, Yates, Orhnberger, and Bussey in that order.

Connolly's shotgun snaps have been spot on this preseason, a marked improvement from last year at this time.
