Re: The Patriots - This year's most overrated team?
When talking about the Superbowl why do people always forget that not only did the line play incredibly bad that game, but Brady had an ankle injury and Faulk missed most of the game. These people act as if the Giants were the first team to ever pressure the Pats.

Re: The Patriots - This year's most overrated team?
Trying hard not to sound like a homer but in a 9 year span when you paticipate in 5 AFCCCs, 4 SBs and go home with the Lombardi in 3 of them, the team is doing something right.
I'd like to think that their draft record could be a bit better, but I reason that to the fact of picking in the bottom 1/4 of the draft year in/out. Logic would say that your chances of drafting NFL-claliber starters is reduced.

It also doesn't help when you have eight picks in the last three rounds of a weak(ish) draft when you already have the most stacked roster in the league. . . .

He used yards as the measure of defense in order to denigrate Belichick. Really, is there a need to say more?

Re: The Patriots - This year's most overrated team?
I really don't have a problem with the article. I don't neccessarily agree, but I can see their point. They say there is no clear cut overrated team. They say the Patriots are overrated not because that people think they are one of the top 4-5 teams in the NFL, but that most preseason polls have them listed as #1. They even write:
Quote:
This year, most rankings have some combination of the Patriots, Steelers, Giants, Colts, and Eagles in the top. I can't argue with any of those.
The guy is definitely a Patriots' hater and I still think the Giants showed the rest of the league the blueprint how to stop Brady and company is overrated itself (how do you sell that to other teams? First you get Strahan, Umineyora, and Tuck on your d-line and then you....), but he does raise some valid issues with the Patriots especially on defense.
I am tired of this the Giants showed other teams how to beat the Patriots since the Giants had the best defensive line and most sacks of any team that season. Few teams could duplicate what the Giants did. Otherwise, I don't have that much of a problem with the article. I do think that teams like the Chargers or Jets are way overrated in many corners and should get the nod over the Pats.
Re: The Patriots - This year's most overrated team?
To be fair, he did say that the only reason he was picking them was because there was no clear cut over rated team and the Patriots were at the top of most lists. That I don't have a problem with. I would agree though that many of his points after that fell flat.
Re: The Patriots - This year's most overrated team?
I do not think that NE is overrated. But - to be fair - there is a lot of Pats love going into TC this year. I think that if you polled most "experts" and players and coaches, they'd all put the Pats at or near the top of their list.
So, while they aren't overrated, they are definately "rated". It would be hard for Harrison to come back and play the "disrespect/no one thought we could do it" card
