Denial is a strong emotion to break especially among die hard fans...

But, mostly, it's about Sanchez. They've been stung by the Grbac/Steve Bono type of moves where veterans were brought in and failed miserably. Frankly, I can't decide whether I want Sanchez to bomb so that Jets fans weep for another decade, or if I want him to be a great QB so that Chiefs fans can start leaping off of buildings and bridges.
Funny that he is hurting them by not making moves...yet in reality it might just be that he thinks they can be winners with what they have on hand. Considering that they were a playoff team two years ago it's not hard to think that maybe he's onto something....

In Denver, it's a bit different. McDaniels has ruined the franchise, made the ozone hole bigger, caused the swine flu, changed man-made global climate change from myth to fact, destroyed the aquifers in Africa and caused earthquakes all around the globe because he didn't give Cutler enough love after Jay got his panties in a bunch about Shanahan getting axed and then McD flirting with the notion of bringing in Cassel. Marshall is also his fault even though everything Marshall is complaining about happened before McDaniels even thought about joining the Broncos.
When in doubt, blame the new guy. When that fails, blame someone else. Seems like the same course from them form what I've seen...

The more I think of it now though, it doesn't matter what happens; people will find a line of reasoning or statistic to back up their favorite player/coach/team or put down an opposing player/coach/team that might be better. Case in point would be the 2008 season: if the Pats do well Pats fans use that as proof that Belichick is a very good coach, while at the same time Pats haters use that as proof that Brady is just a 'system QB' and not worthy of his acclaim (and if the reverse had happened then the haters would have talked about how 'Belichick can't win without Brady'.)
Good point, I actually read this past year on the jets board that Brady wasnt clutch, that he's never had a big drive when it counted except for a couple times when all they got was field goals ( two SP wins, geez) and he couldnt bring them into the end zone. How's that for a line of reasoning! I know they're dolts over there but there's dolts everywhere.

I can't stand Wade Phillips.
He needs a good diet and some serious fat burn-it looks like he has to go poop all the time.

this thread reminds me of the sayong: "Opinions are like *******s, everyne has one"

Your gonna have us (the Patriots fans) think BB is god. You have the general NFL fan who thinks he's evil.

We hate Dungy, but Colts fans think he's what we think BB is to us. Opinions are different all around, so who gives a **** to change them. I don't argue anymore with doubters. I simply point to all the big-time events this decade, and who was part of them. That's why we're considered dominant, nobody can refute that.

I think what annoys some of us is the moving of the goalposts. Is it Brady or is it Belichick? Is it the coordinators or is it Belichick? Is it winning or creating sustainable branches? Is it drafting or FA prowess? Is it great cap management or inherent cheapness? Is it attention to detail or random luck? Is it system or talent?

I'd say it's the ability to be so successful in all facets of the discussion that makes this team tough to copy. And there is a certain level of resentment born of being just that uniquely good across the board that leads to constant nit picking. Not much else those prone to naysaying can find to ponder when it comes to something so multi-facited it's nearly impossible to duplicate.

Heck, we even have a resident contingent here who take the same approach to assessing the team of the decade. And those of us who scoff at them are dismissed as homers and BB/Brady rumpswabs because we can't see all the impending doom surrounding us...
