It'll be interesting how many of these players stick around for the better part of TC later on... with 12 picks + a few free agents + projected vets, I can't help but wonder if a few of those 12 picks are just being groomed for jobs in Cleveland and Denver (not intentionally, BB, don't get pissy).

best part of that article:

–Patrick Chung continued to stand out. His energy is unmistakable. He had a nice pass breakup in coverage. He runs all over the field. I just can’t wait to see him with pads on because I think he’s a guy who will look even better in pads.

Sounds like Coach O'Brian could use a tranquilizer or at least cut down on the caffeine

Coach Scarnecchia must really see something raw and good in Porter to go the extra mile with him after practice...hope he gets a handle on the basics very soon.

I know this is extremely early or premature, but I really think Chung has an excellent chance of getting lots of playing time because of his high energy. His hitting ability alone will find a role on the field.

It’s QB or not QB at Pats’ camp

FOXBORO —

QB or not QB?

That is the question at the New England Patriots’ rookie mini-camp.

Over the course of a four-year career at Michigan State, Brian Hoyer threw for 6,159 yards, joining Jeff Smoker and Drew Stanton as the only players in that school’s history to exceed the 6,000-yard plateau.

Good.

But not good enough to be selected in last weekend’s NFL Draft.

Over the course of his senior year at Kent State, Julian Edelman compiled 3,190 yards of total offense, an average of 265.8 yards per game that included 114.2 yards rushing per game.

Good.

But not good enough to be considered a quarterback by NFL standards.
-----
“Julian looks great at receiver,” said Hoyer. “He’s very quick and agile and he’s done a good job of transitioning from quarterback to receiver.

“We’ve been hanging out. He’s actually from Kent State, I’m from Cleveland, and we were talking. He’s going to be back in Ohio. I’m going to be back in Ohio. We’re home for these (next) couple of weeks. We’re going to try to hook up and throw a couple of times.”

Rookie camp report: McKenzie hurt wire2
Quote:
In terms of session highlights, both Patrick Chung and Darius Butler once again had some good moments. Chung dove to deflect a pass, while Butler came up with another interception.
