Fullback Heath Evans told the Boston Herald this week that he would like to return. He knows that it takes time to sort through the free agents on the roster currently, but if it were up to Evans, he'd like to return to New England
"I don't want to go anywhere," Evans told the Herald. "But I'll let them get all the bigwigs like (Matt) Cassel and all of them squared away."
After eight seasons in the NFL, Evans has learned to be patient. He also said he hopes to retire with the team. "That's where I want to be. That's where I want to retire," Evans said.
I wonder what (if anything) he's implying in the red bit?

Nothing new: two years ago, he told the Globe: "Fit-wise, it couldn't be more perfect. . . . I could care less about money. I'm a loyalist. They were good to me at a time the game of football wasn't."

TC: We live in a fantasy football world. I’m not sure if a lot of fans spend a lot of time thinking about the fullback. Seems like a position that requires selflessness.
Evans: Definitely in some offenses more than others. I get some touches on short yardage here and there. Last year I was a goal-line back for a while until some other guys got healthy. All in all, you’re kind of a glorified guard. You’re called on to pound it up in there and open up some holes, and you know what? I love it. It fits my personality. Everyone wants to be scoring touchdowns and rushing for a bunch of yardage, but at the end of the day there’s really not much better in life than being a piece of a puzzle on a great team,
