Thumbs up Rosevelt Colvin in Foxboro today [merged]

Patriots hosting Colvin today - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com

Quote:
The Patriots are hosting free-agent outside linebacker Rosevelt Colvin on a visit today at Gillette Stadium, according to a league source.

Colvin, who played for the team from 2003-2007, has not played a game this season after being released by the Houston Texans at the end of training camp.

The Patriots are a bit thin at outside linebacker, as Adalius Thomas remains sidelined with a forearm injury, and Pierre Woods was knocked out of Sunday's loss to the Steelers with a mouth injury. Colvin could potentially help fill a void at the position.

Interesting. . . . but would it mean that AD goes on IR?

I have no idea why Rosie O'Donnel popped in my head before Colvin did.

Edit: I also have no idea why I typed 'no why idea why'

That's what I'm thinking, or Wood's isn't getting the job done. If this is all about rushing the passer, if Colvin's in good shape and up for a few games of QB murder/death/kill, I'm all for it. Might as well get him loosened up on Hasselbeck and Russell.

Brother, you may need therapy.

Come to think of it, she might make a good defensive end...

I'm a BIG fan of Colvin. A healthy one, of course. If he is healthy enough I would love to sign him, let him work into football shape over the next two weeks and have more pass rush for the Arizona and Buffalo games.
