Personnally I am not sure if the vet min and rookie min would be enough for me to put my body thru the punishment these guys do. Well I guess it is but it is close.

As a rookie, I can't see somebody not willing to do that. You would have played and practiced for ten or more years at that point for the opportunity, plus you have no money in your wallet at that point in your life.
As a vet who has made enough money that he and his children will never have to work a single day, then no, the vet minimum is probably not worth the punishment and risk of permanent injury. At that point I can understand not playing for more unless you've either invested poorly (Ted Johnson, perhaps?) or love the game so much that you could care less about the money (Tedy Bruschi).
