Cassel is alright.

I don't think its a joke. Manning has not performed overly well this year, and his stats, including passer rating, reflect that. Matt Cassell is on par with Peyton Manning as a QB this year and the stats back it up.
Now, we all know who is better. We all know which of the 2 is already in the HOF. It also bears mentioning that this will probably be Mannings 1 or 2 worst seasons for passer rating in his career (either this or his rookie season depending on how it shakes out).
Tom Brady's worst passer rating for a full season was 85.7 in 2002 ( He was marginally better with 85.9 in 2003; I will note Brady's YPA was 6.3 in 2002 and 6.9 in 2003 which is a huge difference) with 28 TDs and 14 INTs and the Pats had a 9-7 record. PLENTY of QBs have had better individual seasons (Favre, Marino, Kelley). Does that mean they are better QBs? No.
But, the stat says "Over this period of time (2008 Season), Manning's and Cassell's play have been comprable". They have.
