For the life of me, I don't understand why you folks watch ESPN (other than live sports events that you can't see anywhere else, but after the pregame show is over) or put money in its pockets by clicking on the Website. The only way I even find out about what is being said on the Eggresiously Sloppy Pundits Network is on this Board.

STOP WATCHING IT.

Personally, I like to pick and choose highlights & commentary at my leisure from NFL.com, which has become a real treasure trove.

Sensitive much?

ESPN isn't going to show detailed highlights from a game unless it's for MNF. They also like to focus on the big play, and unfortunately, Avery had a number of spectauclar receptions, so of course they're going to focus on those. A series of 8-yard completions to Welker isn't going to hold the viewing audience's attention. Sportscenter is about flash and that just ain't flashy.

Seriously go to NFL.com or the NFL Network. Much better analysis. Zero Stu Scott.

Sirius NFL radio wasn't much better this morning. On the 2 minute drill they said something along the lines of "The Patriots get by the Stephen Jackson-less Rams" before going into the Jets highlights where they predictably ballwash Favre for "rallying the Jets to a win over the Chiefs."

I don't watch ESPN anymore, but I found this on Barstool Sports:

The paranoia about ESPN on this site is unbelievable. Nobody is going to spend a lot of highlight time on Matt Cassel and Deltha O'Neal on a day when there's a World Series game and a host of other NFL games on. This was a pretty dull game against a very mediocre St. Louis team that was playing without its marquee attraction. The only truly exciting plays were committed by St. Louis. You all have to think about this rationally. Boston is one of the top 4 or 5 markets ESPN has. If there was any real hint of anti-Patriots bias in their coverage, management would stomp it out instantly. They covered Spygate to death because that is what TV program directors do, always: they cover scandal stories. You think they cover TO or Chad Johnson's blabberings to death because they have particular feelings about their teams? If anything the the Spygate coverage wasn't driven by anti- new England bias but by a desire to attract women and non sports-fans to the network. Human interest and scandal stories are the tried-and-true method of bringing in "casual" viewers to any corner/niche of the programming universe, whether it's politics or sports. Now I get that you might not like that decision-making, but it's crazy to suggest that this is somehow bias against New England or the Patriots. ESPN spends half of its baseball coverage blowing the Red Sox and it's similarly worshipful of the Celtics. Try being a Kansas City Royals fan or a Buffalo Bills fan and see how much coverage of any kind, good or bad, your team gets on ESPN.

I mean really. This stuff is getting old. Can this site go even ten minutes without some long thread in which dozens of people line up to whine about something? You'd think these were fans of a losing team.

Sorry. While, I will agree that "media bias" is indeed in the eye of the beholder (one person's "No Spin Zone" can be another person's "Right Wing Bias"), I came to the conclusion that ESPN was unfairly biased against the Patriots during the coverage of Spygate, not so much during the initial round in the fall but certainly during its Matt Walsh feeding frenzy when half truths regularly became "facts" before our very eyes on the Network. If you had been around this Board enough to have read my posts at that time, you would have also seen that I was equally critical of the Patriots for allowing ESPN to get away with it without refutuing the fabriactions that passed for "reporting."

So, as with any media outlet, I reserve the right to decide that ESPN's reporting is biased and to ignore or criticize it. Last time I checked, that was an exercise of Free Speech and not "whining." Speaking of which, I don't appreciate being accused of whining by someone with a few handfuls of posts on this board and who does not have the full context of things that many of us have, carefully and thoughtfully, written over the course of many months.

What, do you work for ESPN?

Oh, and it is old and many here are paranoid. So what's it to you?

I do find it ironic, that I watched the Pats/Broncos game and witnessed a great block by Moss that sprung a good run, and now this week, Moss misses his guy and Hogwash is questioning his 'desire'.
I've actually thought that Moss does do a solid job at blocking.

Oh, and the title of the thread should be simply: Stupidity from ESPN. "More" is redundant.
