Default Manning on Brady's injury

Just wanted to share it. I myself felt sick Brady got hurt and will miss the Manning vs. Brady debates this season. I hope he comes back flying next year. I love to watch him play.
Brady and Manning have a lot of respect for each other and are actually friends even though we hate each others teams.

Also on Wednesday, Manning said he has been in contact with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady by text and voice mail this week. Brady sustained a season-ending knee injury this past Sunday.

“I’m sick about Tom Brady,” Manning said. “I haven’t really watched many of the highlight shows or whatever. The couple of times I’ve had the television on and they were about to show it, I don’t look at it. I’m disappointed about it, because I know how hard he has worked.

“I hate for any quarterback to get hurt and to have a knee injury and miss the entire season. It’s a shame.”

Thanks for posting that. It will be interesting to see how Manning performs this year coming off of his injury. The QB position around the league is so much weaker than even a year ago right now with TFB out and Maning underperforming.

I post on a few different boards, and I was pleasantly surprised at the reaction of most of the Indy fans (yes there were exceptions). Most of them felt they too were robbed of the rivalry and wished Tom a speedy recovery.

That statement from Peyton Manning is excellent. It goes well beyond the "You hate to see that happen, etc. etc." It's stronger than that.

I've been off the Peyton hate train since he was on SNL, so it's good to know THAT instinct was correct.

Eli, OTOH.....

Thanks for posting that Peton and Tom are friends..and that is not all that odd...so weren't Russell and Chamberlain back 40 years plus ago...

Yeah, Magic and Bird are on pretty good terms too, I think. It's weird, part of me wants to dislike Manning, but I guess I just don't. He's a good QB and seems like a good guy.

I think Indy fans have generally been a lot better about this than others, perhaps because they just went through a scare with Manning's knee and can appreciate how tenuous a great QB's reign is.

Not to mention, they're the only ones with a QB that's even in Tom Brady's class. You can't expect Chargers or Steelers fans to have a clue what we're going through, with an assclown and meathead for quarterbacks, respectively.

Peyton gets it. I've maligned him shamelessly for a long time (and he deserved every second too), but I think winning a SB changed his attitude somewhat. For whatever reason he doesn't annoy me any where near as much as he used to, at least until I look at those manning pics someone has in their sig LOL

I've been sort of wondering when manning would finally say something
