1) Denial- "Tom Brady's return is questionable"

2) Anger- "That hit was dirty"

3) Bargaining- "Who knows, O'Connell could carry us, he looked the best of the 3 QBs in preseason, he's mobile and had the smarts to check off and throw that TD to Chad Jackson, let's give the kid a shot, he's clearly the better QB"

4) Depression- BB afraid to develop Kevin O'Connell, DRC wears Cardinal red instead of Patriot blue

5) Acceptance- BB sticks with Matt Cassel, Matt pee-pees his pants in NY this weekend and Pats grab a top 10 pick in 2009

Matt Cassel has 4 games to show me what he could do as a starter, if he goes 2-2 and 3-1 as a game manager Im happy, that is the best you could do..

Denial: The "genius" Belichick over in NE has lost it, not being ready with a vet QB, what a douche.

Anger: That lucky, no-talent bench warmer Cassell just beat us.

Bargaining: But Cassell and the Pats will never make the playoffs, right?

Depression: The Pats just won the SuperBowl

Acceptance: Hey, the off-season power rankings have us at no. 3, not bad.

4) Depression- Whaaaaa...why won't that dunderhead Belichick listen to this fanbase and get us a real QB like Culpepper, Bledsoe, Simms, Rattay, Harrington, someone whose name we recognize...

5) Acceptance- Because Belichick's a freakin' football genius...

My 5 stages of grief went by fast. Once it was clear Brady was done for the year, I started to look forward, It is a situation that we cannot do anything about. It really sucks, but as we heard many times before "It is what it is"
