Default Daunte Culpepper retires

This should put to end the 'reunite Culpepper with Moss' talk.

Thats a shame,I think if he was not so c0cky and arrogant he would not have had such a problem in getting a backup role

He played very well with the Raiders last year and actually helped them win the few games they did

But he wanted a starting role and those days have gone by - Who knows that if it were not for Randy Moss would Culpepper have retired MUCH sooner?

It will just start the 'reinstate Culpepper to reunite with Moss' talk

The complete press release from Dante is on Adam Schefter's blog

http://blogs.nfl.com/category/adam-schefter/

Just received this email from Daunte Culpepper:

Adam,
Since I do not have a team where I can do a press conference, I chose to write what I would have said. You are the first to get this.
– Daunte

Farewell NFL

I feel bad for the guy. Culpepper is walking evidence of what one bad knee injury can do to an NFL career. Good luck in other arenas of life, Daunte.

He's only 31. Too bad for him. I wonder if not having an agent to help him stick to a team is partially to blame.

The fact that he couldn't find a job tells me that Mike Vick will be even harder up to sign on to a team when he gets out of prison. I know job openings change season to season, this just gives me a hunch.

I would imagine it is a big part of it. For the same reason it's a bad idea for Drew Rosenhaus to play quarterback, it's a bad idea for players to be sports agents.

Michael Vick will never play for an NFL team again.

Yes, he will.

I hate the guy, but he'll play again.

He stays in contact with Goddell.

There may be a "small" (:banned suspension if he ever tried to come back
