Default Why do Pats invite punters?

I have seen a lot of punters comming to Pats. Forgive my ignorance, why do we need to look for new punters when we already have good ones?

For the future. I mean, it's not complicated. If Hanson goes down, someone has to be there to replace him. And Belichick wants a list of players ahead of time he can turn to.

Because BB has a serious deficiency when it comes to Punters, it is something that we all know, and prefer not to talk about. Be happy that we don't have to live with Ken Walter anymore.

Hanson isn't setting the league on fire with his punts. BB likes his special teams, so it's not a surprise he's looking to upgrade. Or it could just be a psychological ploy to light a fire under Hanson. Who knows...

In a thread started by DefenseRules aka LadyPatsfan we touched upon this subject yesterday:
http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-...678#post998678

It's a situation where the Pats are looking to update their watch list in case something happens to Hanson since they didn't have another punter in camp due to the 80 man roster restrictions coupled with the injuries to the OL and DB's.

Maybe BB enjoys watching young "tight" punters shower down after a hot sweaty workout

I shuddered, just thinking about him. I find it amazing that he lasted as long as he did. I want to know just how much he lost us in field position. Ok, on second thoughts, I don't.
