Brady and Moss are only as good as the protection allows. Given the backup QB situation, what kinds of risks are you willing to subject Brady to? Just sayin'.

This also jas to do with the Yates injury...they NOW have 10 linemen...Koppen, Connolly at C...Mankins, Wendell, Sene and Flynn ay G, Britt, Kaczur, Martin and Welbourn at T...they needed to make a move with Yates and Hochstein out...I think those inside are injured a bit worse...not good.
The Ravens have won a Super Bowl, you might be misinterpreting,
Quote:
Flynn’s time in Baltimore began as a gritty lineman that was signed off the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad on Dec. 3, 1997. After seeing spot duty at guard for the next two seasons, Flynn cracked the starting lineup at right guard during the 2000 training camp.
He never dropped from the first string during the Ravens’ magical run to the Super Bowl XXXV title that year, a crucial cog at both guard and center that helped pave the way to 2,199 rushing yards (fifth in the NFL). The emotional leader never dropped from the first string for the next eight years, bolstering Baltimore’s running and passing attacks throughout his career.
I really think people spend too much time contemplating moves being made at the bottom of an 80 man roster. Most of these moves in recent weeks will have absolutely no bearing on the final 53 man roster.
Flynn has starting experience so he may stick around, but he was out on the street for a reason. He could very well be out on the street again next week.

Doing a little research, it seems like that reason may be that the Ravens just wanted to get younger and cheaper at the position, rather than Flynn no longer being able to play. Hopefully I'll find a few more insights on the matter if I keep searching, because Flynn was good for a long stretch with the Ravens, and it would be nice if he could play well for the Patriots, even just as quality depth at the interior positions.

The OL is certainly a concern because of lack of health at the position. So I don't think it's overanalyzing at all to assess what potential impact/contribution Flynn could have on the position.
