I can't help but wondering if Gronk got advice to cool his off-season non-football related activities, either from Foxboro or elsewhere. What other reason could there be for the change?
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski's scheduled appearance working the Oscars red carpet for the "Rich Eisen Podcast" has been spiked.
...
As for the Oscars red carpet, perhaps the Patriots stepped in and decided that might have been a bit too much.
Or maybe we could say it's Ed Reed's first interception for the Patriots?
The pats can't step in for this......if anything, gronk decided to bag it

You're dead wrong. They can step in for whatever they choose. Gronk clearly decided to bag it, but anyone who doesn't think he was assisted with that decision is a candidate for pre-school. Sandbox and blocks, here we come...

I'm not sure why you'd think "mystical powers" would be needed, particularly since the same thing happened with
a.) The Bibi Jones incident
b.) The Bruins and Marchand/Seguin after the Stanley Cup win led to them partying almost nonstop for weeks.

No need. The point was made and yours was blown out of the water.
Moving on...

Here's the key thing about GRONK off the field: he's a child at heart in a body Superman would kill for.
Yes, he makes some incredibly stupid decisions sometimes. But at no point can you really look at what he does and say "What an ass****." "What a buffoon," sure, but not "What an ass****."
I think the Patriots might be concerned about the *volume* of his off-field activities, but not the activities themselves.

Couldn't agree with you more. If the other nonsense had never happened, my guess is he's still doing the Oscars. Of course, I then wonder if the other nonsense had never happened, would Academy have asked him to do tomorrow night's gig?
