REPORT: Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski Cleared to Return
It appears the weekly drama may be coming to an end, and Rob Gronkowski may finally be hitting the field this weekend.
According to USA Today his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said the veteran tight end has been cleared by his doctor, and that means he'll likely be in the line-up this weekend down in New York against the Jets.
Dr. James Andrews, who was reportedly brought in by Gronkowski's camp last week, didn't clear Gronkowski for last Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints. However, whatever held him back appears to be behind him, which is good news for an offense that once again lost Danny Amendola after the receiver suffered a concussion during Sunday's win.
After reportedly spending last week on the scout team as Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, Gronkowski was reportedly rewarded for his efforts after Christopher Price of WEEI.com Tweeted that the veteran tight end was spotted with a black jersey yesterday. That means he earned the honor of practice player of the week, and it must have been a great performance because New England’s defense completely shut Graham down.
Now we'll see how big of a help he'll potentially be this weekend, but he'll hopefully give New England a much needed boost on the offensive side of the football.
