Here’s what Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson had to say as he spoke to reporters on July 26, 2025.
On how he’s been doing as things ramp up:
“Yeah, it’s going good. We’re getting better as a team. I’m getting better. The staff here are pushing me a lot. And so, yeah, I’m thankful. Thankful to be here and thankful to continue to work and get better.”
On if it’s been a whirlwind, and how he’s been able to handle the pace of everything:
“Yeah. No, thank God. The adjustment has been well. It’s always different. You always got to get adjusted to it when you work your way up to another level. And so, yeah, the adjustment has been going well so far.”
On his goal for his first training camp:
“Man, the biggest thing, I just want to do my part and leave the rest up God. I want to come out here and give it everything that I got, to honor God, and to bring glory to his name. And whatever the outcome is, I trust that that’s what’s for me. But the biggest thing is just I got to come out here every day and do my part.”
On how he feels his time with Drake Maye is going:
“It’s going good. Drake is a really good quarterback. I’m excited to play alongside of Drake and keep working with him.”
On if he can take us through the out and up route on Marte Mapu down there up the left sideline to finish off practice:
“Yeah. Like I said, I’m trying to be the best player that I can be every practice and trying to earn my role on this team. And so I’m just excited with this staff, Coach McDaniels, see how he wants me to play a role on this offense. And so I’m looking forward to it.”
On the fact he looks comfortable out there and that he’s lined up outside the numbers, and if that’s just a natural feel and if he did a lot of that at Ohio State:
“I feel like I always had the ability, but I didn’t get too many opportunities to really excel at that position, flexing outside. And so I’m just thankful that they’re giving me the opportunity to showcase that. And I’m just trying to continue to work at it and get better. I’m not a perfect player. I just strive to give it my best each and every practice.”
On how much it means to him to take the field with Will Campbell and Kyle Williams and then Jared Wilson all around Drake:
“Yeah. I feel like we got a great group of guys on this team. This rookie class that’s coming in. I feel like the Patriots just put together a great rookie class. And so I’m excited to continue to work with those guys.”
On the fact he’s been seen already on the kickoff quite a bit and what his comfort level is with it, and how the adjustment is going with the different rules in the NFL:
“It’s going well. I know the rules are different. I’m still trying to work on that as well. Returning those kicks, fielding those kicks, and yeah, so we’ll see how it goes. Got to continue to get better at that. For sure.”
On the fact it seems like with his speed he should excel at that and if he feels the same way:
“Yeah, for sure.”
On how he’s bonded with the rookie class, and how he’s working with them:
“Yeah, really well. We’ve definitely got some opportunities to get to connect and know each other on a deeper level, hearing each other’s stories and things like that. And so, yeah, it’s been good. I feel like we built a great bond with the rookie class.”
On what excites him about the offense:
“I feel like on this offense, there’s a lot of playmakers, as you all know. But I think the biggest thing is we just got to continue to work hard each and every practice. And just get better each and every practice. But we do got a great offense, and I’m excited.”
On if he’s always been this fast and how much of that has been a part of his football journey:
“I feel like it’s a natural ability. Since I’ve been little, I’ve always been fast.”
On what it’s like to run fast:
“Good question. I don’t know. It feels amazing.”
On how he feels the offense will accentuate the skillset he has now:
“Ask that question again. I ain’t going to lie. I’m tired.”
On if there are things about this offense that he thinks are a particularly good fit for him and what he does well:
“Yeah, I think Coach McDaniels, his biggest thing, he loves to get the playmakers out into space. And so I feel like that’s one of my strengths of my game, getting out in the space in those one-on-one matchups. And so, yeah, I think I’m looking forward to that.”
On how he can tell McDaniels likes getting his playmakers in space:
“You all are trying to get me in trouble, ain’t it?”
On the fact the media sees stuff on the field and are not in meetings, and what, if anything, he can share about what he’s told him about getting into space:
“Shoot. It’s out here on the field. I mean, you all see the plays. You all see what we’re working on, where we’re trying to get better at. So, yeah, that’s the question for one of the coaches. Appreciate you all, though. I’m tired, man. So appreciate you all. Yeah, appreciate you all.”
