Here’s what Andres Borregales had to say during his press conference on 7/26/2025:
On how his first training camp has been going:
“I’ve been going good. Really just trying to take it all in, really. You don’t get to do it many times, I guess you could say. I’m excited to be here. Just doing what the coaches need me to do.”
On what his mindset is coming into this camp:
“Really, I guess, just focus on the details, really. Also, again, like I said, just doing whatever the coaches need me to do. They need me to hit any type of kick, I’ll do it. Just be as versatile as possible.”
On how he’s feeling coming off the field today:
“I feel good. Every day is a work in process. That’s how I view it. Even if you go perfect in the day, there’s always something to work on. But just feeling good coming off the field today.”
On if he can take us through the first two kicks, how long they were, and if he made one or both:
“The first one was an extra point. Missed that one. Just a bad hit. That’s on me. Second one was a good hit. Wind took it, so I’m not sure if it went in or not. We’ll see. And then that one was around, high 30s? I don’t really remember the exact yardages, and then the other two were down the middle.”
On the two he hit (50, 47) and if anything was different about the feel or approach there:
“Really, it’s just, I guess, adapting. If you have a bad hit, be able to kind of recognize what went wrong and apply it on the next kick.”
On getting drafted with a long-snapper and the fact they had a relationship, and if that was from the pre-draft process, and how they met:
“We did pre-draft together. We were together since January, and then we just ended up happening to be drafted to the same team. So that was awesome.”

On how much that helps:
“Tremendously. Because I already know how he snaps and his tendencies and everything. And obviously, that relationship, that chemistry is there.”
On how he would evaluate his first full week here, and what he needs to look at to say he’s had a good week:
“Really, just, at the end of the day, if you make a kick, you’re good. If you miss it, you’re bad. So on paper, it’s really just good makes and then no goods. But for me, it’s really just focusing on my technique. If I was good, even if I missed it, if I hit a… Like today, I hit a good ball, wind, took it. I can’t do nothing about that. But at least what I can control is doing good.”
On if he would say the coaches are drilling in a ‘one-play-at-a-time’ mentality:
“Yeah, I mean, I’ve always had that mentality as well. But it’s really an emphasis, especially as a kicker. Just one play, that’s it. That’s all you get. Now onto the next. Even if you make or miss, it doesn’t matter. On to the next.”
On the fact that during the spring sessions, he was 19-of-20 and didn’t miss much, and how much confidence that gives him in his first training camp:
“Really, it’s just as a kicker, you kind of have to go out there with a little bit of confidence. Me, personally, I like to just think of every single kick as a game-winning kick, I guess you could say. Really, it’s going, I think you said 18 for 19?…”
It’s like 19 or 20, Something like that.
But based off of that, you look back, you’re like, ‘All right, you’re doing good.’ But for me, I felt good. My technique felt good. Again, just doing what the coaches need me to do.”
On it being such a cut and dry black and white world as he said earlier, how he maintains confidence:
“Again, just trusting your technique. At the end of the day, not a robot. I could miss some, but at the end of the day, you just got to kind of have short term memory, really, even if you make it, just onto the next.”
On if there is anything that Coach Springer has done to tweak or adjust, or if it’s just a matter him doing what got him here:
“It’s really a two-way street. If I have something that I’ve been doing for a while, he listens. If he has some ideas or anything, he’ll tell me, and then I’ll try it out. If it works, I’ll do it. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. But it’s really a two-way road and just handling it as adults, really.”
