Bill Belichick spoke to reporters on Wednesday and confirmed that Mac Jones will indeed be the starter when New England heads to Las Vegas this week ahead of their match-up against the Raiders.

When asked whether or not Jones will start, Belichick told reporters, “Yeah, we’re not making any changes.”

He also revealed that after giving players Monday off, the club did get together on what’s normally a day off for players on Tuesday, confirming the club did hold a practice session yesterday.

“[We] worked on some of the things I think will help us in a game,” he said when asked what they were able to accomplish.  “Help us play better football.”

Obviously, the talk following Sunday’s game was “starting all over.”  Belichick was asked what that would specifically entail, and as expected, he didn’t offer much detail other than a basic reply.

“It’s what I just said,” he said.  “Fundamentals, things that will help us play better.”

Belichick was also asked if that went all the way back to the coaching staff and he said it entails “everyone,” including some self-reflection of his own.

So we’ll see what this all means.  But as of Wednesday, judging by the bags under Belichick’s eyes, there have been a significant number of hours put in as the club tries to right the ship coming off what’s certainly been a rough two weeks.
