The Patriots remain busy on the first day of the legal tampering period, adding another defensive player to their roster.
Accoding to NFL Insider Jason LaCanfora, the Patriots agreed to a four-year, $56 million deal with Ravens free-agent linebacker Matt Judon, which includes $32 million guaranteed in the first two years.
Smith’s addition is big as he adds a nice injection of talent at the linebacker position for New England as he comes off of a season where he recorded 50 combined tackles as well as six sacks. He played in 14 games for the Ravens last season, missing two games after being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
NBC Sports Boston reporter Tom Curran had reported prior to the start of free agency that the Patriots would be aggressive and that’s definitely been the case so far. They’ve already added tight end Jonnu Smith as well as Dolphins NT Davon Godchaux on Monday.
