The Patriots wrapped up their 2020 season with a home date against the rival New York Jets on Sunday looking to end the year on a high note with a win.

The game marked potentially the final time in a Patriot uniform for up to 23 impending free agents heading into the offseason.

Take a look back through all the best sights and sounds from social media as they unfolded below.

In the first quarter, Cam Newton stamped his mark in the Patriots record books, claiming another QB rushing record from Steve Grogan.

The run by Newton helped setup a James White touchdown reception to give the Patriots an early 7-0 lead.

In the second quarter the Jets answered back when Chris Herndon hauled in a 21 yard touchdown pass from Sam Darnold to tie the game at seven all, a score that held into halftime.

As the second half began, a Josh Adams rushing touchdown gave the Jets their first, and ultimately last lead of the day.

With the clock winding down on the third quarter, some Patriots trickey tied the game at 14 when Cam Newton caught a 19 touchdown pass from Jakobi Meyers. It was Meyers second touchdown pass of the season.

In the fourth quarter, and for the first time all season, a Patriots tight end found the end zone.

Rookie Devin Asiasi hauled in a 26 yard touchdown from Cam Newton to give the Patriots back the lead at 21-14.

The touchdown by Asiasi marked the first Patriots tight end touchdown since Tom Brady found Matt Lacosse against the Buffalo Bills in December 2019.

The Patriots would later pull away for good when Sony Michel hauled in the longest touchdown reception of his career to give the Patriots a 28-14 lead.

The Patriots defense took care of the rest as Jonathan Jones recorded the second Patriots interception of the afternoon.

The 2020 season would conclude with a 28-14 victory over the Jets set to a backdrop of some picturesque Foxboro snow.

After today’s game, one Patriots player took a seat on the logo at midfield to soak it all in. It looked like Joe Thuney to me, which would make sense given his impending status as a free agent, but hard to tell from far away.

This team, this organization, this fan base, knows nothing but hard work. And this year, showed that in spades. Proud to say that my brothers fought to the last whistle.
