As Cam Newton settles in as a New England Patriot, the nine-year NFL veteran began his studies this week.
On Instagram Tuesday, Newton shared a photograph of himself sitting down with a cup of coffee while reading through what appears to be his Patriots playbook.
“This s**t calculus” Newton joked while tagging Julian Edelman in the posting, referring to the well-noted complex nature of Belichick’s system.
With Stidham and Hoyer already having a leg up on Newton in term of playbook experience, Newton will need to catchup quick this summer if he hopes to win the starting job.
According to sources that have spoken with NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran, “there’s no concern he won’t master it”.
Edelman later replied back poking fun at Newton, editing Newton’s photo to make it look he’s deciphering a complex math problem right out of “Good Will Hunting”.
