Ted Karras Thanks Patriots Following Signing With Miami Dolphins
Greg M. Cooper - USA TODAY Sports
Offensive lineman Ted Karras became the latest member of the 2019 New England Patriots to say goodbye this week.
After four seasons in New England and two Super Bowl championships, Karras signed a one-year, $4 million contract with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday.
Karras took less money to join the Dolphins in a report by the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson.
Ted Karras had a higher two-year offer from Patriots, per NFL sources, but opted for a starting job with Dolphins on a one-year, $4M deal with thought it would be better opportunity to reset his market next offseason and build on what he showed as a 15-game starter

Karras spent the majority of his Patriots tenure in a reserve role, but saw 15 starts at center in 2019 following David Andrew’s placement on injured reserve after a pulmonary embolism diagnosis in August.
“It has been an honor of lifetime to serve in this organization and be a part of your community” This program is a standard for humility, brotherhood, and winning football”, Karras wrote on Instagram.
