(PHOTO: Christopher Hanewinckel - USA TODAY Sports) Monday marked the 20th anniversary of the New England Patriots trade with the New York Jets for head coach Bill Belichick.
In honor of the landmark moment in franchise history, the team tweeted out a photograph of the letter between Robert Kraft and Bill Parcells that ultimately brought Belichick to Foxborough.
Kraft sent the Jets a first round pick (16th overall) in the 2000 draft along with fourth-and-seventh rounders in the 2001 draft in exchange for Belichick.
Six Super Bowl championships, nine conference crowns and 16 division titles later, the trade goes down as one of if not the best in league history.
Belichick remains the longest tenured head coach in the NFL since the trade.
