Rob Gronkowski isn’t normally one to let his temper get the best of him, but unfortunately he lost his cool on Sunday out in Buffalo and it may end up costing him.

The play happened as Brady targeted Gronkowski late in the game on a 3rd-and-7, with the veteran tight end battling with Bills defensive back Tre’Davious White, who he seemingly felt had held him on the play, which caused the interception.

After White picked off the pass, he fell out of bounds and was touched by Patriots receiver Phillip Dorsett, which ended the play.  But as White was getting up, an angry Gronkowski dove and drove his forearm into the back of White’s helmet, leaving him down on the ground briefly before he slowly got up.

It was an unusual move by Gronkowski, who normally does a good job of keeping his composure.  Now he’ll have to hope the league hits him with just a financial penalty, especially given the precedent the NFL has been trying to set recently when it comes to player altercations.

A suspension would leave the Patriots, who are already thin at receiver, in tough shape, especially with a Monday night battle looming next week against the Dolphins, who beat the Broncos in convincing fashion with a 35-9 win on Sunday.
