In a story first reported by ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss, it has been announced that the NFL handed down fines in the amount of $9,115 to Patriots player’s Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and LeGarette Blount for their roles in retaliation towards the Cincinnati Bengals during the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s game.

Edelman was fined for a facemask that went uncalled, Gronkowski for a taunting penalty, and Blount for unnecessary roughness.

After the game Sunday, Gronkowski was asked about his taunting penalty.

The news follows up a $75,000 fine given to Bengals linebacker Vontzae Burfict after he was seen stomping on Blount following a fourth quarter touchdown score. He received no punishment for an earlier low hit on tight end Martellus Bennett that created the tension between both teams.

Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick also picked up the same fine for unnecessary roughness.
