No Tom Brady. No problem.

On Thursday, the NFL announced that New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for the month of September.  The award is the first earned in Blount’s career and follows Tom Brady and Stephen Gostkowski back in September 2015 as the only other teammates to take home the monthly honor.

Through three games, “Blount Force Trauma” leads the NFL with 298 rushing yards, averaging 99.3 per game to go with tying the league lead in rushing touchdowns at four. Against the Houston Texans in Week 3, Blount carried the Patriots offense with two rushing touchdowns while recording his second straight 100 yard game of the season. His season high was 123 yards versus the Dolphins in Week 2.

According to the Patriots team website, “his four rushing touchdowns in the first three games ties Marion Butts (1994) and Corey Dillon (2005) for the most for the Patriots in the first three games.”

Blount’s selection marks the third time in 2016 where a Patriot has won an NFL award. Special team’s members Stephen Gostkowski and Ryan Allen have been named AFC Special Teams Players of the Week for Week 1 and Week 3 respectively.
