Some bad news on Wednesday as the Patriots lost a critical player on their offensive line for the season.

According to the Boston Globe’s Jim McBride, the Patriots will place Solder, who will require surgery to repair a torn biceps, on injured reserve.

#Patriots left tackle Nate Solder will miss the rest of the season with a torn right biceps, according to a team source. Surgery upcoming.

CSNNE’s Mike Giardi also spotted the play where Solder got injured on Sunday out in Dallas, which happened in the second quarter:

It was initially reported that Solder had an “elbow” injury, which caused him to leave the game after that play. However, there did appear to be some reason for optimism after he was seen in the locker room after and appeared to be in good spirits.

“Yeah, that was a call they made and we’re going to go forward and see what happens,” Solder said, via WEEI. “We haven’t made any conclusions yet.”

Unfortunately, it looks like they came to one on Wednesday and we won’t see him again in 2015.
