Prediction:
The stadium will be insanely loud as the Bills fans, hungry for a playoff team after a long post-season drought have gone all-in on Ryan and the new look Bills. They will boast a top 5 defense in 2015 and have improved their weapons on offense. It will be up to Tyrod Taylor to try to piece it all together.
When the schedule first came out, I chalked this one up as a Patriots loss; they traditionally start slow coming out of the gate, especially with their first road game. Flashback to the 2nd game of the 2009 season, Mark Sanchez and the Jets beat the Patriots 16-9. The young QB becoming the “Sanchize” with all the hype that followed.
But this time the typical Ryan over-the-top quotes with way too much trash talking by a Bills team that is 3-23 against Brady and Belichick may have woken the sleeping giant. This Patriots team is already mad at the off-season ridiculousness that followed Deflategate. Then they had to listen to the increased “cheating” whining of Mike Tomlin and Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers following their loss after Thursday’s opener.
It won’t be a pretty one and it won’t be easy, but Brady and Pats hold serve in Buffalo. Patriots 27-21
