FOXBORO, MA — There is now something “Pleasant” to discuss in New England when people discuss the Patriots.
The Patriots signed former New York Jet and San Francisco 49er defensive end Anthony Pleasant on Thursday. Terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed.
Pleasant was rumoured to be re-joining Bill Belichick during last year’s offseason, but ended up spending the 2000 season with the 49ers. The 11-year veteran was originally drafted in 1990 by the Cleveland Browns and spent six years there, five of which with then head coach Bill Belichick. Pleasant has thrived under Belichick and should be a solid performer in New England’s defense.
