KIRKLAND, WA — According to Seahawks.com, Patriots defensive tackle Chad Eaton has reportedly agreed to a contract with the Seattle Seahawks.
The deal is reportedly a 4-year deal worth a total of $11-million with a $3.5-million signing bonus.
It comes as no surprise as Eaton, who is a Washington native, hinted at a possible “hometown discount” with Seattle after the final game of the 2000 season.
He took a picture of his Patriots locker after cleaning it out, and now it appears that will be just a distant memory. He joins former Patriots defensive coordinator Steve Sidwell, who is now the coordinator with the Seahawks. Eaton currently has a home in Bellview, Washington.
Eaton, who turns 29 next month, played in 65 games with 43 starts for the Patriots since joining the team in 1996. He has 224 career tackles with 13.5 sacks. He had a career-high 77 tackles last season which was fifth on the team, and also had 2.5 sacks.
