FOOTBALL NOTES (2/7) — Robert Kraft flew in Terry Glenn’s strength and conditioning coach, Dave Kennedy of Ohio State on Friday to interview for the Patriots position as strength and conditioning coach.
Kennedy was flown in on Kraft’s private jet, and according to the Boston Globe the Patriots may offer him the job.
Several other players have turned out great under Kennedy, including Seattle’s Joey Galloway and Andy Katzenmoyer. Both Glenn and Galloway have been training with him during the offseason.
PRO BOWL NOTES — Glenn played much of the second half at the Pro Bowl in Honolulu yesterday, and even found himself running back kicks.
Glenn told the Boston Globe after the game, “‘I didn’t practice it at all. All of a sudden they asked me to go out there and I thought for a minute and said, `Gee, would the Patriots want me to do this?’ After I thought for a second, I just decided to do it because they didn’t have anyone else. It turned out great. I actually enjoyed it, the long one I ran [for 31 yards], but I don’t think the Patriots will want me to do that.”
Glenn also caught three passes for 69 yards.
Glenn also talked to the Globe about his Pro Bowl experience. ”I’ve got to come back every year,” said Glenn. “I’m addicted now. This is the greatest thing. To be on the same field with these players and to catch balls from Peyton Manning. I’ll never forget that. I can’t wait to come back next year.”
Lawyer Milloy also made some big hits during the game. His agent, Ray Anderson, is said to be returning to the negotiating table today with the Patriots.
