For 2 PTBNL.
Mets reliever Billy Wagner has changed his mind about coming to Boston, waiving his no-trade clause after the Red Sox and Mets worked out a trade before today’s deadline. A major league source said the Red Sox will send two players to be named later to New York in exchange for the lefthanded reliever, who is coming off Tommy John surgery.
Should be interesting to see how the Papelbon/Wagner dynamic works itself out.

There isn't going to be any dynamic. Wagner is replacing Cabera/Gonzalez/12th guy. He'll most likely be behind Paps, Ramirez, Bard and Okajima as far as leverage goes.

more importantly, did he waive the demand about not offering arbitration. Thats the most important thing, as it gets them draft picks back.

I just meant from the standpoint that there were words going back and forth in the media between the two. In no way does he threaten Papelbon's job.

Wagner has been great for us, makes Tito look awesome
