A McCarthy reach at #3 had me worried

Interesting seeing the patriots first round quarterbacks, Plunkett, Eason, Bledsoe… all went to the Super Bowl

Belichick wasn’t too excited about the pick.

I think it's a big mistake. McCarthy was the right pick and the Pats whiffed. Again.

Dude has high ceiling, I’m excited. If it works out our fortunes get changed big time. He’ll need a good chunk of the season or entire one to be ready.

Again, it boils down to a simple fact:

They had a 100% chance of being able to choose two of McCarthy, Maye, and Daniels.

If they trade down, they'd be going YOLO, with no guarantees at all. [I remember saying a few years back that replacing Brady without a top-10 pick was going to be an interesting proposition.]

Pats used their highest pick on their most critical need.

I'm quite pleased with Maye's upside. I really liked hearing about his background being the youngest kid and having to battle with his brothers. The mentorship relationship with Cam Newton. I really wish him the best of luck here!

Plunkett went with the Raiders.

Eason was a rotation QB.

Drew was probably the best of the first rounders.

Me too. I simply don’t believe in McCarthy and if he does pan out great for whoever takes him. But I don’t want the Pats passing up on a high ceiling player for him. If Maye busts so be it.

Needs development, but his college team and coaching staff were crap and he looked like King Kong.

Sit him behind Brissett, who is the perfect teacher to for ball protection and smart decisions.

Seeing footwork and timing issues gives me major pause. That's the sort of thing that tends not to be correctable at the pro level.
