Player Signing Patriots Signing Former Vikings WR K.J. Osborn

Slater is in his prime and would be a top 5 pick this year. The Bolts may again have cap issues in 2025 and Slater is due for big contract. If we also trade for Higgins (a 2nd this year), who has requested a trade, we are not a top 5 pick team next year.
they probably restructure sth but they will not let slater go. Their oline isn't that good and very good LT are hard to find.

Why? We need more #3 recievers? Great. Parker replacement . Big Whoopi doooo!!! Seems like Belichick is still here...Fill up the room with JAGS.
I hear you, but I would have to say he's an above average JAG. He's not Calvin Ridley, but he's the type of guy who can get open, catch the ball, and move the sticks, something they had trouble with all last season.

At least Osborn had two red zone touchdowns last year. DeVante Parker didn't have one red zone target all season - which is a mind-blowing stat given his extension and the state they were in last year.

you have to consider when evaluating osborn that jefferson hockenson and addison got the most attention from opposing defenses.

We don't have this in our offense so i would not expect to have the same production

Problem solved

I know what you're saying, but you could flip it around and say Kendrick Bourne didn't have the same talent the 49ers had around him yet he had a career season here. Osborn's a decent player, and he's already an upgrade over who they had/have.

Problem solved
I wouldn't say solved - but he improves one problem they had. And I doubt - and certainly hope - they're not done.

I was being a little sarcastic in reference to our WR1 issue.

Seems a strong WR3, so good cover if Bourne can’t come all the way back from his injury or Juju is Juju.

Well, look at it this way - if he was with us last year an argument could be made that he was our #1 receiver…… *but* I don’t want to make that argument this year!!

Yes I agree with what you say but new sheriff in town and if he trades Herbert (might lose his job haha) and takes JJ McCarthy they may move Slater. If he gets moved though it may be next year but Pats offer of a first would be thought provoking. Stranger things have happened.

yeah but he had 800 rec here in 2021 compared to 666 in his best season as a niner but also played 2 games less in this season with the niners. I view the current WR group as a couple of Number 2 and 3 WR. They can battle it out but neither of them makes a DC worry about the game plan. I expected a more aggressive move with the likelihood of a top 3 pick used for a qb

I don't disagree, but it still makes a big difference when you have more than one guy who can beat man coverage, which is a better spot to be in compared to where they were last year when they only had two, and then really only had one in Douglas by the end of the season.

That Parker extension was the straw that broke the camel’s back in my internal “Bill stay or go” dialogue.

It was awful then, everyone not named Bill knew it, and was the move that made me realize how little Bill cared about actual ability/talent vs guys he was comfortable with.

I’d add JuJu but reports are conflicting around who’s idea that was…if it was Wolf I’m the first to say “that was an awful move”….

If it was Groh…I hope he’s gone after the draft.

But JuJu has to go barring a Tony Stark-like resurrection

100% agree - I absolutely hated the Parker extension ... haven't been a fan of him since he got here. On the Groh situation, that's a tough one, albeit Bill seemed to deflect blame there last year, which was interesting when it came to Smith-Schuster. But I'd be surprised if he's on the team and I'd be even more surprised if he doesn't retire, at least based on what we saw last year. Just unfortunate it worked out the way it did. Definitely disappointed Meyers isn't here...still bummed about that.

KJ Osborn is an NFL WR. The pats had many games last year where they were rotating non-NFL WRs including Thornton, Juju & Reagor. He has a 100.4 career passer rating when targeted, some deep threat ability & can play outside & the slot.

1. Douglas
2. Day 2 rookie
3. Osborn
4. Bourne recovering from injury
5. Day 3 rookie

Juju should be gone IMO
1. Brian Thomas late round 1 after trade back
2. Douglas
3. Osborn
4. Bourne recovering from injury
5. Day 3 rookie/Boutte

Fixed it for you. :)

definetely agree, the receiver separation against man coverage has been uderwhelming

Another jag WR, team for sure needed another WR 3.
Just remember Juju moves like a #5 and I'm being generous. I see this as a Juju insurance if we are going off last year. I am sure AVP don't want to depend on the likes Thornton or Juju in the upcoming season.

If Osbourne a JAG what is Juju and Tyquan?? Asking for a friend.
