Chiefs are officially the new us.

Like I’m trying to think who else hasn’t come up short at this stage. Burrow did for the exact same reasons against the Rams two years ago. Josh Allen and Lamar have repeatedly come up small in these moments. Goes to show you how very few guys have been able to knock off Brady/Mahomes.
Mahomes has yet to lose to a lesser QB. Meaning, a non great to elite guy. Brady and Burrow. That's it.

Obviously that will eventually happen to him.

I don't hate on the Chiefs, I know I should. What's the cliché? Strength recognizes strength? They are good, they know how to win.

The tide will turn at some point.

I disagree about Allen constantly coming up small. I think he played a good game this year. Remember when he gave his team the lead against Mahomes in the division game with 13s left ? Not everything is on him.

This year Mahomes wasn’t stellar. KC was carried by the best D Mahomes ever had. A top 5 D in the league and got saved by ST blunders yesterday. Got lucky that the Bills D was almost playing exclusively backups.

For all we know this SB could be the last Mahomes will ever win.

Let see if he can keep this up.

At some point Reid and Kelce won’t be there anymore.
I think Reid not being there may have a bigger impact than Kelce.

They are good at planning for the future. So there's no question they ate looking for a Kelce replacement as we speak.

You can't really replace what Reid brings. I think Sean Payton in KC would have been glorious. The only way that happens now is if he resigns/gets fired in Denver. And takes over for Reid in a year or two.

That might be moot because Reid is apparently getting an extension.

I’d respect greatness if it didn’t feel he also gets helped so ****ing much and then also having it rammed down my throat. I don’t remember Brady getting such poster boy treatment, if anything he had to fight against the league to become the greatest ever.

That’s what irks me rather than someone else doing it. I don’t mind them earning it the whole way and deservedly surpassing pats/Brady records in that way.
Imagine if it was Brady yesterday. All we would be hearing is how he is a dink and dunk guy and was carried by his D!

The rest of their OL is quite horrible. No one else grades to the level of average.
I think their D was overrated too. Didn’t look great during those playoffs.

I'll take this bet.

I do agree with you on Allen.

There is 0 chance they win 4 more Superbowls. Reid is 65. Kelce is 34. They are going to have to overhaul that offense very soon and the coaching staff.

Yeah I feel like this year for KC is kinda similar to the patriots 2018 one

I think they played admirably yesterday.

They only gave up 18 legit points. They were holding them to fg's.

The blame should go on the offense.

But overall, they need new pass rushers, CB's, OL, and probably an Ernie Adam's type guy for Shanahan l.

The other thing I didn't even bring up is the longevity. Brady had to do some pretty extreme things to keep his body together for that long. In 5 years, Mahomes's body isn't going to be cooperating the same way it did. Let's see if he can figure out that magic that kept Brady in the game long enough to do what he did.

Yeah but Brady was 42 in 2019.
Mahomes will be 29 next season.

With respect to receivers, definitely drafting one in the first round. Must look at drafting a TE. Try and get him involved in the offense.

Getting Mike Evans from TB would be nice. But they will probably want to ensure he remains a lifer there.

I’d like to see if Mahomes could come back strong from a major injury, like, I don’t know, say an ACL tear. A huge career setback that leaves questions. Like Tom did so emphatically.

Sorry, but Tom did it with so many different kinds of guys, two different teams, major injury, and on and on. ANd he beat Mahomes head to head on the biggest stage. So forgive me if I’m not anointing Mahomes now or ever.

Did anyone else feel like Reid was sounding a little frail these days? He's a big dude, that's 65, I don't see how he keeps up that level of stress while letting his physical health go like that for much longer.

I didn't want to see it but it is what it is. They are a dynasty now. I don't know if you can really compare them fully to the Pats or how you'd do it though. The Pats had two dynasties relatively close together with the same QB/coach combo and the same offensive and defensive scheme so it's kind of like one dynasty.

I guess you could say the Chiefs are equal to "one" of the Patriots' two dynasties, but which one? Hard to compare against the second one because 28-3 was so insane and the Legion of Boom was so formidable, and hard to compare against the first one because the era was much tougher for offensive football.

I agree, from a certain point of view. They are the team that's been there, done that. Meh during the regular season, then dangerous in the post season. They'll be good for a long time, as long as Mahomes is playing well.

San Fran played well but that TO on the punt gave KC a chance, have to give Mahomes credit, he took advantage of it.

You're assuming that the AFC is going to be competitive lol
There's no QB that can go toe to toe with Mahomes
Burrow has a ****ty Oline
And the true GOAT is retired. Allen can't get his head out of his ass and Lamar is a regular season QB

Him and Brady might be the only ones.

Montana always had elite weapons.

The career Mahomes is having is the career Rodgers was supposed to have.
Right!! Remember not long ago Rodgers was in the GOAT conversation even with the man only winning ONE Super Bowl? The media always pushes this agenda to lessen Brady's accomplishments.

Agree with this. At least Mahomes actually did something to get crowned. Rodgers and Manning were flopping around in the playoffs for years and we had to deal with made up hypotheticals about why it wasn't fair that Brady won all the time and they didn't because of excuses a, b and c.

You're underselling Manning a tad. He probably would have won 1 or 2 more SBs if it weren't for Brady/Patriots. Manning also stole a victory in the big Indy comeback win, so Patriots likely lost a SB there. They were great rivals.

Who are Mahomes rivals? There's Josh Allen who plays for a Bills franchise that can never win a big game. And there's Lamar, whose deficiency in throwing a football shows up in the playoff when he eventually runs into an elite defense. Then there's Joe Burrow, who is injured every other year. So for rivals, meh.

Lastly Mahomes has the offensive Goat in Reid. Then he has a big time player I Chris Jones, KC loses without him. Mahomes has it easy.
