Imagine if we had taken Dak instead of Biscuit oh what could have been.
We would have traded Dak to the Colts for Dorsett, since at the time he wasn't better than Hoyer OR Brady.

Fortunately for Dak he went to Dallas and has thrived behind a great OL and struggled when it wasn't very great.

I remember that bad OL that got Adrian Clayborne some $$$$ from us via FA. But that wasn't the Cowboys only problem they had a lack of Speed at WR so good CB's would jump all over their short routes. Thus the release of Dez Bryant and the Trade for Faster Amari Cooper.

Hmmm..

I'd argue Jamal Lewis (2000 BAL) and Dillon (2004 NE) were also elite.

You're probably right about Dillon. But I think the trend is clear. For the most part, teams that invest heavily at RB don't win SBs. They pay RBs too much money and are forced to give them carries to justify their contract. Then they wear out late in the season. Bill does the right thing by having RB by committee approach.

And you don't think having the GOAT have nothing to do with that?? Even Peyton Manning at his height had Edgerrin James I don't think what you are saying is gospel.

Yep. Invest in the passing game and defense. If a team develops a functional running game its a bonus.

A lot of money, but if a guy like Trey Flowers who’s never had more than 7.5 sacks in a season can get 17 mill a year, I don’t think giving a 2 time rushing leader 15 mill a year is that bad. Their offence runs through him.

The Dak contract will be the true killer.

contract appears fair.

I presume that Dak is next, perhaps on a short term contract (1 or 2 years) with no tag.

And ironically the Colts won the Super Bowl the year after they let Edgerrin James go and shared the RB load between Joseph Addai and Dominic Rhodes...

Jerrah the manager is killing Jerrah the owner.

Love watching the lizard man cave in.
Zeke had him by the short hairs.
Dak ain't ****e without Zeke. We saw that when he was out.

Watched a film study of Dak. He's afraid to throw the long ball and keeps dumping it off.
Either that or he's not seeing the deep stuff...or panicking.

Jerry West told BB early on "Don't ever let 1 player hold your franchise hostage."

I would have offered Zeke a hugely backloaded deal.
"Hey look...you'll be the highest paid running back in history!!!!!!!" Then cut him in 2 years.
I think agents are probably smarter than that now.

BB would have made him an offer then let him rot in total silence.
Other players have said that about the Pats: "We haven't heard anything from them!!"
"Yeah dumbass, that's how you play chicken."

When's the last time a player on the Pats held out?

Imagine if we had taken Dak instead of Biscuit oh what could have been.

Dak isn't much better than Jacoby if he is at all. So I would say what could have been would've been the same or worse.

Here is the thing, I am happy for Zeke, get that money will you can and that your body can still function, because once you are close to 30 you ain’t getting money anymore. So if anything this is the last big contract Zeke might get.

Jerry knows Zeke is a seat filler and he will make that money back in merchandise.
I can’t say the same for Dak.

Either way expect the cowboys to have a decent year because the giants probably are gonna be mediocre for another year, the redskins are gonna be crappy and the eagles are gonna be the only decent team that is going to be a real challenge depending if wentz stays healthy.

I mean he deserves it. But I bet money there are clauses in his contract where any suspension or what not leads to money not being owed. They couldn't possibly be stupid enough not to have said clauses.

I think we can kiss Michel good bye in 3 seasons. If Zeke is worth 15 a year....Michel justifiably can ask for north of 10 a year...something we won't pay as long as there are rookies or veterans who can come in for cheap.....

Zeke was holding out after 3 seasons. Michel might do the same in 2 years. I think we should not count on him being year after the 2020 season.

Glad the cowboys did this, now they need to give their qb 40 a year. They should max out as many players as possible.

Should've drafted Damian Harris and let Elliot walk when the contract was up. Glad we got Harris

If he holds out, you let him rot.

they also paid their O-line and they are going to have to pay Dak at some point. Are they ever going to spend any money on D?
