That number was probably agreed upon (at least on the Patriots side) before Welker signed with Denver.

I'm very very happy. Amendola is better than Welker at this stage in their careers. The contract is not at all an overpayment. If anything they got a bit of a bargain.

It's still +10 on Bovada.

It's not about the "product". Being more aggressive in a lot of situations is just better game strategy. What you have to gain is more valuable than what you have to lose. Coaches are finally starting to figure that out and trust the math.
